I am in my ninth year as a practicing attorney and my third year as an Assistant District Attorney. Currently, I have the privilege of serving as the Felony Domestic Violence Prosecutor here in the 5th Prosecutorial District, under our District Attorney, Ben David. I have prosecuted everything from speeding tickets to murder, as an Assistant District Attorney. I have also practiced in Criminal and Civil District Court since I became licensed as an attorney. Additionally, I have practiced in Criminal Superior Court, Federal Bankruptcy Court, and Federal Administrative Court throughout my legal career.
Every day I am reminded of my love for the law and I am continually grateful that I have been given the opportunity to participate in this profession. I made the decision to go to law school at a very young age. I knew then, as I know now, that the law is a profession that should be treated with reverence and respect. It requires careful consideration, character, and integrity for those of us who apply the law. These are truths that those of us who practice in the legal system must observe every day in order for the system to work correctly.

I have always enjoyed the courtroom and so I made an effort to focus my practice on arguing cases before all manner of tribunals at both the state and federal levels. I am married to Ronald Brand, a ten year veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps and now currently serving via lateral transfer as a Captain in the U. S. Air Force Reserves, stationed at Seymour Johnson, Air Force Base in
Finally, I feel that I am particularly qualified to serve as District Court Judge based on my years of experience in the North Carolina Court system, my reverence of the law, and my strong desire to serve the public. I am very much looking forward to campaigning and the election.
